In memoriam: Wilhelm Schäfer

It is with deepest regret and great sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed company founder, Wilhelm Schäfer, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, following a long illness. He was 88 years old.

We bid farewell to a pioneer whose life's work shaped Wilh. Schäfer GmbH into the company it is today. He remained active in the daily operations of the business until March 2025.

A Life Defined by Entrepreneurial Spirit and Foresight

Wilhelm Schäfer laid the foundation for our company in 1961 in his own barn. What began with humble means, he led to success through unwavering energy and a deeply visionary mindset. His entrepreneurial courage and passion for innovation were legendary.

Thanks to his dedication, we can now build upon a state-of-the-art machinery park and a healthy, sustainable foundation for the future.

We are profoundly grateful for his legacy and will continue to lead the company in his spirit.

New Addition to Our Machinery: HEDELIUS Tiltenta 6-2300

Since November 2023, our machinery has been expanded with the addition of a HEDELIUS Tiltenta 6-2300 1R Magnum. This traveling column machine enables the machining of components up to 2000 mm in length and 600 mm in width.

Equipped with the latest generation of Heidenhain controls (TNC7), a zero-point clamping system, a tactile tool breakage detection sensor, and an integrated rotary table, this machine offers full 5-axis simultaneous machining capabilities. This investment significantly broadens our range of components and provides immense flexibility in our production processes.
